We were contacted to urgently resolve a chiller failure, knowing that under normal circumstances, replacement chillers typically take 8 to 10 weeks to arrive. Due to the location and access issues, a hire chiller wasn’t a viable option, so we quickly explored other solutions. Within 24 hours, we found an opportunity to replace the existing unit with two smaller chillers from Daikin available for stock-but located in Southern Italy. After presenting the proposal to CBRE’s Head of Projects, Martin McBride, we received the go-ahead. The chillers were ordered on July 18th, shipped immediately, and arrived in the UK just three days later. We had them lifted into place on Saturday, July 22nd.
Our installation teams worked through the weekend to adapt the system pipework, controls. and electrical wiring to suit the new configuration. By Monday and Tuesday, we were able to carry out testing, with final commissioning completed on Wednesday, July 26th. From the moment the chillers were ordered to full handover, the entire project was completed within just 10 working days. In total, we coordinated a team of 20 specialists to deliver the job quickly, safely and efficiently.
