CBRE appointed ASG to a £1.4 million nationwide programme replacing ageing R22 air conditioning across Nuffield Health’s UK estate: 34 private hospitals and 110 leisure and gym sites. R22 was being phased out, so the systems could not simply be repaired. The constraint running through every site was operational continuity, particularly in clinical environments, where treatment spaces and gym floors had to stay open while their cooling was replaced.
ASG structured the programme in two phases, taking the healthcare sites first and the wider leisure portfolio second. Each site was surveyed and coordinated with its on-site team, and a mix of Mitsubishi DX and chilled water systems was specified to suit the duty and constraints of each building.
The majority of changeovers were carried out in evenings and weekends, so patient care, treatment spaces and gym operations were never interrupted. Across complex logistics, tight deadlines and precise phasing, every site was delivered on time and within budget, with CBRE and Nuffield Health noting ASG’s technical detail and communication throughout.
